Harnessing the power that made the body to
heal the body
Advancing Regenerative Medicine
There is nothing as natural, safe and effective as stem cells. Get back to living the life you deserve!
The human body is built to heal itself. If you’ve experienced an injury or other chronic condition that has left you with pain, you have options. Stem cell therapy repairs damaged tissue in your body to restore your health and give you a pain-free life!
While there are many sources of stem cells, the ones we use are harvested from your own body’s fat (adipose) or from umbilical cord cells, providing the proteins, stem cells and growth factors needed to promote cell renewal and healing. We also offer amniotic allografts such as Amniofix and the latest in Regenerative Medicine, Exosomes.
Stem cells grow into specialized cells to help with muscle, ligaments, cartilage, nerves, and more. The process is a quick and painless procedure. The stem cells then grow and repair the affected area, delivering lasting results.
What are Stem Cells?
All stem cells carry three properties: They are unspecialized. They can become specialized. They can continuously divide to generate new cells.
These properties, when applied to an area of the body, allow for the newly introduced stem cells to take on the function of surrounding cells. This addresses the deteriorating effects of aging. These special cells are used in the rapidly growing field of regenerative medicine to halt or even reverse chronic diseases. Regenerative medicine seeks to repair or replace tissues that have been damaged by trauma or disease.
The use of stem cells has proven to be both a safe and effective means of treating many conditions. These cells allow the body to heal and regenerate in ways that were thought impossible before. Stem cell technology provides a natural alternative to the use of drugs and surgeries, which may be more harmful and invasive.
There are three types of stem cells: embryonic, umbilical cord, and adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are considered pluripotent, meaning they can give rise to all of the cell types that make up the human body. Cord and adult stem cells are multipotent, which means that they are able to develop into more than one cell type, but they are more limited than pluripotent cells. In the United States, cord and adult stem cells are the only ones used in regenerative medical procedures. Due to ethical controversy, embryonic stem cells are not used in clinical practice.
Here are Sikora Integrative Medicine, we offer adipose derived stem cell therapy (stem cells from your own fat) and umbilical cord derived stem cell therapy.
Adipose Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells
We now know that our adult bodies are loaded with stem cells. We don’t even need to perform painful procedures like bone marrow biopsies to harvest adult stem cells. The most abundant reservoir of stems cells happens to be in the extra fat that most of us have with plenty to spare.
We offer adipose derived stem cell treatments and umbilical cord stem cell therapy at Sikora Integrative Medicine. We can use an infrasonic vibrational technique to mechanically separate the stem cells off the fat before extracting it from the body, allowing us to harvest stem cells without the use of enzymes. This technique is considered a minor surgical procedure and can be done right in our office. We extract the fat in a minimally invasive procedure and offer Pronox for anesthesia, with minimal discomfort or risks involved with the procedure. There is no risk of rejection as the cells are taken from your own fat.
Umbilical Cord as a Source for Stem Cells
Aside from adipose, another source of stem cells is the umbilical cord. Fifteen years ago, researchers showed that cells taken from umbilical cords contained stem cells that have the ability to become other cells (e.g. fat or bone cells).
The umbilical stem cells that we use are recovered from donated umbilical cords following normal, healthy births. Each mother has her medical history screened and is tested for infectious diseases. Proper consent is received from each family prior to donation. Cord blood is obtained from the umbilical cord and placenta and is frozen for future use. We obtain these through blood banks which practice under strict safety guidelines set forth by the FDA.
Is there a risk of a reaction or rejection with umbilical cord tissue-derived stem cells?

What does stem cell therapy treat?
Stem cells are powerful building blocks of life that repair the human body and alleviate pain for good. While stem cells are shown to help a number of diseases, conditions, and injuries, at Sikora Integrative Medicine we help patients suffering from joint, back, and neck pain find permanent relief.
Stem cell therapy is shown to help the following:
- Knee Degeneration
- Tennis Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis)
- Neurological Conditions
- Shoulder Pain
- Back Pain
- Muscle Tear
- Joint Pain
- Degenerative Disc
- Nerve Injuries
- Ligament Injuries

Stem cell therapy is an amazing feat of modern medicine. It also has no shortage of controversy surrounding it. The truth is that many of the concerns and objections about stem cell therapy are due to common myths and misconceptions about the treatment.
