PRP Facial Aesthetics

At Sikora Integrative Medicine we offer the latest anti-aging techniques. We offer microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the face which is age-defying and uses the regenerative power of the human body. This is a popular treatment utilized by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie. This is an entirely natural way to rejuvenate your skin. If you want to discover why celebrities are flocking to microneedling with PRP (also known as the Vampire Facial), here’s a look at the treatment.

The power within

We use the platelets from your own blood. Platelets are used in healing because they contain hundreds of proteins, or growth factors, as well as cell adhesion molecules and various cytokines, which are responsible for cell signaling.

Not all concentrates are created equal.

We turn to the EmCyte PurePRP® system to collect a clinical dose of concentrated platelets. With the EmCyte® system, we deliver the necessary deliverable platelets for tissue regeneration and healing through double spinning.

"I highly recommend Dr. Sikora and her practice. She is very kind and compassionate. In addition to traditional medicine she practices many alternative therapies as described in her website. I personally experienced acupuncture and platelet rich plasma injections. When I had an emergency her assistant kindly drove my car to the hospital and delivered the keys to my hospital room.."

Is the procedure safe?

Yes as we use an FDA approved medical grade device to microneedle as well as FDA approved PRP kits. This is not the same as doing microdermabrasion or using a home microneedle kit. All equipment is sterile and all needles and syringes are disposed of after the treatment. There is minimal risk of any reaction as we use your body’s own blood.

How many treatments will I need?

All of the 14 studies evaluating use of PRP for facial rejuvenation reported positive aesthetic outcomes — whether researchers used PRP alone or with fat grafting. Researchers in four of seven studies looking at PRP alone performed three treatments, total, once every two to four weeks. In addition, for more skin rejuvenation, we can combine PRP with exosomes or stem cells.

It’s your turn!

Now let’s bring all of this science back to your skin. Using the EmCyte® system, we draw some of your own blood and separate out your platelets in numbers that will have a real effect in your tissue. Then we turn to a microneedling technique, which creates microscopic ”injuries” across the surface of your skin, and inject the platelets directly into the area to promote new cell growth and collagen production.
Using this technique, we’ve helped many of our patients rejuvenate their skin and improve overall texture by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, and scarring. Essentially, your body creates healthier connective tissue to support your skin better. The end result? The surface of your skin has more elasticity and tone, dialing back the effects of aging, making you just as camera-ready as your favorite celebrities.

"AMAZING!!!! I am in the medical field been to so many uneducated doctors its just insane. I was so lucky to find Dr. Sikora, she actually cares about her patients. I have had a few surgeries on my spine and its just a relief to have her to keep me in line. Love her "

Is there pain during the procedure?

There is minimal discomfort and the entire procedure takes approximately 30-45 minutes. The treated area is first numbed with a topical cream and we have additional anesthesia with Pronox® if needed.
