Dr. Alita Gonsalves Sikora opened her practice in July of 2017. She decided to open her own practice in order to be able to take a more personalized approach to treating each patient. In addition to seeing patients in her own Vero Beach practice, she has inpatient privileges at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. She has previously been a Medical Director for a subacute rehabilitation hospital.
She graduated from Wellesley College, Magna cum Laude, in 1999 and then attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine from 1999 until 2003, when she received her MD with Honors. She then did a year of Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Connecticut followed by a Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the New York Presbyterian, University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell from 2004-2007. She is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has practiced in Vero Beach since 2007.
She is originally from Fort Pierce and now lives in Port Saint Lucie. She has worked off and on with Dr. SIkora since 2007. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking holidays. She has 2 Children and twin grandsons. She is the wife of a US Army veteren who served our country for 28 years.
